As if there wasn’t enough to worry about these days, I heard about the
possibility certainty of a major disaster that will kill 1/3 of the earth’s population on my drive to the San Francisco airport this morning. Since it was 4:30 am, I could just dismiss this story as the ramblings of a kook, but the speaker, a scientist, seemed convinced of his analysis of “the data.” He also mentioned other scientists shared his view and were talking action to protect themselves and their families.
The good news is this solar flare and big asteroid hit aren’t supposed to happen for 10-15 years so there is time to learn how to use firearms, build a family compound in a non-populated area away from the oceans and determine which crops and animals to raise to be self-sufficient.
I’m still going to need to be convinced there is a real threat before doing anything but I might just have to pickup a few books on living off the land. Those Mad Max movies might just be documentaries channeled from the future, after all 😉
